Hi, I’m Ronan 👋

I’m from County Kildare and have been living in London for over ten years.

I grew up speaking Gaeilge, going through school in Irish, so the language has always been a big part of who I am. But, like many people who leave Ireland, it wasn’t until I moved away that I truly began to appreciate the importance of the Irish language and everything it represents.

Language is more than words. It carries stories, memories, humour and a connection to where we come from. Over the last few years, it has been amazing to see Gaeilge becoming more visible again, from social media and music to fashion, culture and everyday conversations. There is a real sense that the Irish language is finding its place in modern life, and I wanted to help celebrate that.

That’s where SLÁN comes in.

SLÁN is an Irish clothing and accessories brand created to celebrate Gaeilge, Irish culture and heritage through everyday products. I wanted to create pieces that make the Irish language feel natural, accessible and part of daily life.

No gimmicks. No tourist souvenirs. Just thoughtfully designed clothing, bags, hats and accessories inspired by authentic Irish words, phrases and the culture behind them.

We’re a small independent brand, which means we keep things hands-on. We carefully choose quality, sustainable products, work with trusted partners for embroidery and production, and create every piece with the same question in mind: would I genuinely want to wear this every day?

From our embroidered hats and organic cotton T-shirts to our Irish language tote bags, every product is designed to celebrate the beauty of Gaeilge and bring a little piece of Irish culture into everyday life.
